RapidPick™ Automated Colony Picking Systems

The RapidPick™ Series of automated colony picking systems offers the highest flexibility for workcell automation, throughput, and efficiency in colony-picking.

RapidPick Colony Pickers are simple and robust picking systems that combine easy operation with high speed and durability. RapidPicks are available in multiple platforms:

Hudson RapidPick Complete Colony Picker.

Complete

RapidPick Complete includes the Lite workcell with 10 stacks and adds a Lexan-paneled lighted enclosure, a media dispenser and an adhesive plate sealer. Optional: incubator, UV and HEPA filtration.

RapidPick™ Harvester™ Colony Picker

Harvester

Unique automated picker for microbial and fungal samples in microplates or omnitrays.  The RapidPick Harvester™ identifies and extracts sample plugs of microbial colonies, or fungal samples grown on agar or in semi-solid media.

RapidPick Lite includes the RapidPick MP, a PlateCrane EX robotic arm and 5 plate stacks.

LITE

RapidPick Lite includes the MP colony picker, plus adds a Hudson PlateCrane robot arm and 5 plate stacks for automated source and destination plate loading.

MP

RapidPick MP is an automated, 20-pin colony picker with rotary action for constant delivery of colonies to the destination plate. Inoculation rates of 96% are normal. Accepts manually loaded source and destination plates. Performs up to 2,400 picks/hour (typical).

SP

Hudson’s RapidPick SP is a single-pin version of our widely-acclaimed RapidPick MP Multi-Pin colony picker and re-arrayer. Whether used as a standalone or upgraded to a RapidPick Complete or a RapidPick Lite, the RapidPick SP has all the features users need in today’s molecular biology environment.
