Art Robbins Instruments was founded in 2003 by a team with over 75 years of experience developing high-quality products for life sciences. Initial product offerings included the Intelli-Plates and Crystal Phoenix for protein crystallography, which have been enthusiastically adopted by hundreds of laboratories worldwide. ARI was acquired by Argosy Healthcare Partners in 2022 and merged with Hudson Robotics. The company continues researching and developing new high-quality products for protein crystallography, liquid handling, and tissue typing. ARI remains headquartered in Sunnyvale, California, with distributors around the world.

Since 1967, Tomtec, based in Hamden, CT, has been a premier, fully integrated standard and standard-customs medical instrument systems provider, notable as a pioneer in the automated laboratory liquid pipetting industry. Tomtec designs, develops, productizes, and manufactures a line of precision laboratory liquid transfer instruments to automate tedious, repetitive bio/pharma development/testing and other processes. Tomtec Quadra and Harvester are recognized worldwide for their strong capabilities in automating sample prep for LC-MS, DNA, and flow cytometry analysis. Hudson acquired Tomtec in late 2023.
